True Romance
'A small and perfectly formed
masterpiece'
The Sunday Times
"It's share and share alike, chez moi. We share her and she likes us"
She's young and poor and needy. A refugee from overseas. A dispossessed and fragrant little vagrant.
Not suited to privation, she finds shelter in the Little Venice mansion-house of the rich, vain and quietly vicious Max. Eager, in her stateless way, to satisfy, she lets her man indulge himself, for there are worse things in this world, bleaker ways of getting by than lying, wet and waiting, on a bed in Little Venice.
But when Max invites the younger, coarser Bruno to complete the intermingling, they embark on an elaborate and deadly game in which cruelty and wit are weapons and the ultimate alien is ultimately revealed.
